The Beginning...

My name is Kat Redner, and this is my JET LIFE!

Now let's start from the very beginning...
I met Elaine Larsen- the driver of the Florida Institute of Technology jet dragster at a WEventure seminar last year that my mom made me go to (her part was obviously the coolest). It was an instant connection. Long story short, I came to the shop which is located in Palm Bay, Florida every week and I began doing the marketing for the Larsen Motorsports. I started out making promotional videos, posting Larsen Motorsports' social media, building the website (LMSJETS.COM, check it out!) and doing any little random jobs that Elaine gave me.
Okay, so when are we going to the racing part you may ask??
I remember the first race that I went to like it was yesterday. My family and I drove to Orlando Speedworld Dragway for the Orlando Night of Fire so I could help crew with the LMS teams. I sold merchandise while I was there all day until it was finally time for the jets to race.
And so the chaos began...
Everyone's minds are moving 100mph, grabbing crew shirts and headsets, doing last minute checks on the cars, buckling the drivers in, etc.
Elaine asked me if I wanted to be in the stands, watching with my family or in the middle of the track at the starting line...
I said THE STARTING LINE of course!
Boy, was I in for a treat. I felt the heat of the fire, I heard the thundering sound of the burner pops, and I watched the jet dragsters blast like a rocket down the track at a mind-boggling 280+ mph!!!!! I was hooked.
I continued my joy ride by hopping on the back of the scooter with Chris Larsen, founder of Larsen Motorsports, and riding down the track smiling from ear-to-ear and waving at excited spectators.
That was just the beginning.
From there on, I helped out in any way I could. Now, I've traveled with the teams all across the United States. From the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway to the Ford Supernationals in Ohio at National Trails Raceway, each race track has it's own unique aspects that make it special and fun. The 4-Wide Nationals was certainly one of the best trips I've ever been on. It was amazing seeing all of the people that Larsen Motorsports impacted. As I stood in the middle of the track, I saw a team- people working together to make a difference and having a great time doing so.
That's the great thing about Larsen Motorsports. Everyone shares similar values and appreciates each other in whatever they may do.
My dream is to eventually get licensed in a jet dragster. This is just the beginning of my blogging, so stay tuned to read more about what's going on in my jet life!
